14th Minnesota Volunteer Infantry Regiment - National Flag

This 45-star silk flag and a companion regimental color were used by the regiment in camp, military drills and parades during their five months of stateside service.

The Fourteenth Minnesota, one of four units in the state organized to serve in the Spanish-American War, was mustered into federal service in May 1898. All four units trained at the State Fair Grounds in St. Paul; the Fourteenth and Twelfth were sent to Georgia. The Fourteenth eventually transferred to Camp Poland in Knoxville, Tennessee, before returning to St. Paul in September 1898.
