Description: Staff or club made by a Lakota woman living at the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota circa the late 19th or early 20th century. The head consists of two buffalo horns attached base-to-base with points curving backwards towards the handle. The horns are wrapped at their meeting point with a black cloth strap edged with thin serrated leather; red cloth straps edged with yellow muslin flank either side of the black strap.
