Titles: Pipestone tablet (Supplied title)

Description: A parallelogram pipestone tablet, possibly Dakota, inscribed with Bible verses (Matthew 5:46 and 18:3) in script, in Dakota, circa the late 19th to mid-20th century. It reads, "Matthew 5:46: Tona waste ni dapi, Kin hena waste wi cayadapi kin." A letter of Verna Goodthunder, of Morton, Minnesota dated March 27, 1939, to Miss Kern Bayliss reads in part, "Am sending you my father's name and translation of the verse. Name: Charles Whipple Goodthunder; Translation of those words: Matthew 5:46 'For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the Publicans the same?"
