Titles: Pipestone pipe bowl (Supplied title)
Description: A tomahawk style mottled pipestone pipe bowl, possibly Dakota, circa the mid- to late 19th century. Both bowl base and posterior projection are incised. The left side of bowl base features an American Indian riding a horse, wearing a head dress with a stone club in hand. The left side of posterior projection has decorative borders, a tipi with an American Indian smoking a pipe seated on the right, and three arrows crossed in bottom corner. The right side of bowl base is incised with a crossed tomahawk and club. The right side of posterior projection is incised with an American Indian paddling in a canoe, also a spear, possibly a knife, and other designs.
