Titles: Wood pipe stem (Supplied title)

Description: A wood pipe stem, possibly Dakota, circa the early 20th century or earlier. The wood stem is flat and rectangular with squared edges and two longitudinal cutout sections, extending to one end, and is decorated with porcupine-quill wrapping, and blue silk ribbon is tied on at each end of cutout section. The quill colors are white, purple, yellow, red and green. An inscription on one side, written in ink and pen, reads: "Presented to Mrs. Whipple/ by Red Cloud on visit to Birch Coulee, June 1902."
