Titles: Dakota bow (Supplied title)

Description: Wooden bow with a double curve, two notches on one end, and one notch on the opposite end. The bowstring is made of twisted sinew and is knotted together in two places. One side of the bow features a series of drawings painted in dark colors. The drawings are: a paw print (possibly bear), buffalo, paw print, an Indian with a feather headdress mounted on a horse, paw print, another Indian on horseback, paw print, and a calumet. The opposite side of the bow is undecorated. The artifacts donated in this collection were obtained at Lower Brule and Crow Creek Reservations in South Dakota.
