Description: A Dakota female doll, circa 1890. The doll has a cloth head with a leather scalp; the rooted hair is missing. She has black bead eyes and a red mouth. She wears a fringed leather dress with dyed yellow quillwork around her neck and multicolor beadwork. A small wood knife in a beaded sheath and a beaded bag hang from her waist. The doll is from either the Lower Brule Indian Agency, Lower Brule, South Dakota, or the Crow Creek Indian Agency, Fort Thompson, South Dakota.
