Description: A Lakota turtle-shaped umbilical cord pouch made from leather and decorated with blue, pink, and yellow glass seed beads, circa the late 19th century. Leather pieces project from the bag's sides to form legs. One of these legs is missing. Reportedly purchased in Mandan, North Dakota from a wife of the Lakota chief Sitting Bull between 1888 and 1889 by David K. Bryant of Minneapolis (1858-1936).
