Titles: Dakota beaded blanket strip (Supplied title)
Description: Tanned, sinew-sewn Dakota deerskin blanket strip embroidered with glass seed beads. The four-quadrant medallion or rosette design represents the four cardinal directions, and each medallion has a two-stranded center pendant of faceted glass bugle beads strung on each leather thong and finished with a deer dewclaw. Glass seed beads are applied using the lane or lazy stitch. The blanket strip was presented to Minnesota governor Andrew McGill.
