Dakota steel and wood tomahawk pipe

Titles: Dakota steel and wood tomahawk pipe (Supplied title)

Description: Dakota tomahawk pipe bowl and stem. The rectangular stem is carved out of wood, while the head is steel and brass. The tobacco chamber appears to be a section of brass pipe with a threaded rim. Opposite it is a tarnished steel blade pierced in a zigzag pattern, engraved with curvilinear designs and tied with a leather thong. The wood stem is drilled for smoking and has a tapered mouthpiece, and is decorated with brass circular studs. A hole in the stem is threaded with a leather strip that is decorated with white shell beads, brass thimbles, and gold and red ribbons.
