Titles: Beaded leather and wool legging (Supplied title)

Description: These leggings are made of chamois with a front panel beaded in a floral pattern and bordered with fringed chamois. This object was reportedly given to Mrs. George A. Van Doren's grandfather, John H. Charles, in Sioux City, Iowa, by members of the Dakota tribe. While this object may certainly have been collected among the Dakota, its aesthetic strongly indicates that it has southern Cree origins.
