Pipestone pipe stem

Description: A pipe stem, possibly Dakota, made of pink pipestone, circa unknown (but probably the late 19th century). The stem is a flattened hexagon in one section with a tubular wood core that continues throughout the entire hollow form. Its surface is incised and beveled in regular linear bands. The stem appears unused, but its exterior shows signs of handling. "Se waller" is handwritten in pencil on one side.
