Titles: Iroquois beaded cotton and velvet bag (Supplied title)
Description: An Iroquois black velvet pouch lined with cotton cloth, circa the mid-19th century. The pouch is beaded on either side with identical floral motifs that incorporate both glass seed beads and pony beads. The top edge has a flap on either side and is trimmed with light green satin. Loops of white beads are strung as fringe at the seams. The bag was donated by Emily Barr whose grandmother, Aurelia Blake, reported that her father bought it from a Dakota woman in 1856. However, the bag is Iroquois, circa the late 19th century.
