Description: A Dakota parfleche "possibles" bag, circa the early 20th century or earlier. The front of the pouch features fourteen porcupine quillwork lines providing a background for two curvilinear diamond shapes (also quilled). The sides of the pouch are decorated with blue, yellow, red and white beadwork, as well as tinkler cones terminating in tufts of dyed horsehair. Additional tinkler cones on the pouch's front side terminate in bundles of yarn. Three vertical rows of featherwork subdivide the bag's front into two primary sections.
