Titles: Dakota female doll (Supplied title)

Description: A female Dakota doll by the Bluecloud family from Upper Sioux, Minnesota, circa the early 20th century. It wears a brown leather tunic blouse and skirt with green leather fringe. Black yarn hair is braided and braids are wrapped in red cloth with brown leather fringe at ends (one missing) and decorated with clear glass seed beads. Leather head has stitched leather loop nose and faceted black glass bead eyes. Front leather panel on blouse originally was decorated with beads; all are gone with only attachment threads remaining. Arms and legs are wrapped in white cloth (likely leather body beneath). Hands are brown leather mitts. Leather "moccasins" with clear glass seed bead decorations have red cloth (possibly worn cotton velvet) leggings above. Legging seams have the same clear glass seed bead decoration. Attributed to the Rebecca Bluecloud family cottage industry.
