Description: United States Army major general's double-breasted wool flannel frock coat. It was worn during the Civil War by Major General Christopher C. Andrews of the 3rd Minnesota Volunteer Infantry Regiment. The coat has quilted cotton lining, a velvet faced collar and cuffs, major general's shoulder straps, and gilded brass General Staff buttons. One button has been replaced with a Minnesota State Seal button.
