McCarthy campaign peace dress |
---|---|
Description |
One-piece fitted sleeveless dress with a jewel neckline and zipper back closure. It features round, multiple-sized "McCarthy" and "Peace" designs in two-tone blue all over. The dress was created and worn in support of Eugene McCarthy's bid for the 1968 presidential nomination, likely by a campaign worker. Young women turned out in huge numbers as volunteers for Eugene McCarthy during his bid for the 1968 Democratic nomination. A wide variety of clothing items (dresses, miniskirts, scarves, hats) were produced with the McCarthy and peace-symbol logos. |
