| Description | English pocket watch made by Edward J. Dent of London, England, a renowned clock maker. The watch is in an engraved silver case and is accompanied by a retractable pencil chain fob tool. There is no chain or winding key. The gold-plated copper retractable graphite pencil has a purple gemstone on one end and would have been attached to the watch chain. The watch belonged to Corporal John Nelson of the 6th Minnesota Regiment, who used it during the Civil War. |
