Dakota fringed leather shirt
Description A Dakota leather shirt with a fold-over collar and front opening that extends halfway down the front and closes with a leather thong tie, circa the 1880s. The bottom hem is fringed, and a wide band of fringe is applied to the collar in back. A chevron ornaments each sleeve above the cuffs. The shirt was collected at the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, South Dakota.
