It was worn during the Civil War by Brigadier General William Gates LeDuc, who served in the quartermaster's department throughout the war. The coat has quilted cotton lining, a velvet faced collar and cuffs, brigadier general's shoulder straps, and gilded brass General Staff buttons. |
