Description: BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Bill Main is a former intravenous drug user and convict whose life changed dramatically after learning of his HIV infection. A self-described bigot, after diagnosis Main found himself treated in the same manner as those very populations he despised. SUBJECTS DISCUSSED: Main describes his transformation from a hard-core junkie to a master's degree-prepared member of the Minnesota Commissioner of Health's Task Force on HIV Prevention. He also discusses his fears, the process of dying and the emotional and physical pain of living with AIDS.
