Titles: Norwegian bunad costume (Supplied title)
Description: Man's traditional Norwegian costume (bunad in Norwegian) worn by a performer in an ethnic dance group based in Minnesota. The costume consists of five elements: a jacket, pants, vest, garters, and a pair of stockings. The black woolen broadcloth jacket features a standing collar and full-length sleeves. It is trimmed along its edges with red wool braid and couched green thread. The black woolen broadcloth knee breeches have a buttoned front flap. The red, green, white and black wool plaid vest is double-breasted, with a lapel and standing band; it fastens with two rows of pewter buttons (two additional buttons are on the lapel). The vest is lined in light blue satin. The garters are of wool and finger-woven in a red, white and blue flame pattern. The knee-length stockings are hand-knit, ribbed, and shaped at the calf.
