Description: BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Hansen is a native of South Saint Paul. He graduated from the American Aeronautics Institute in St. Paul in 1944 and went on to serve as a U.S. Navy flight engineer during World War II. Hansen entered the insurance business and operated his own agency until 1968. He went on to serve in a number of governmental positions, most recently as the executive director of the Legislative Commission on Minnesota Resources. SUBJECTS DISCUSSED: Background. LCMR strengths of; how it receives its revenue; natural resource usage in relationship to attracting high tech industry. Significant projects while at LCMR restoration of Fort Snelling; soil surveys of Minnesota; involvement with forestry community. LCMR involvement with water issues. Opinion on Perpich administration suggested proposal to eliminate the LCMR. The environmental trust fund and its effect on LCMR. Future of LCMR.
