Cylindrical copper kettle

75.1

Titles: Cylindrical copper kettle (Supplied title)

Description: Blackened cylindrical copper trade kettle has riveted, hand-wrought lugs. A bail handle fastens around the lug heads. An applied band 1.5 cm wide is wrapped around the kettle. The lower edge of this band is rolled up. The top edge is rolled down and over the top edge of the rim band. Rim construction and lug location indicates the original presence of a cover no longer extant. Found at the Minnesota and Ontario border at Lac La Croix.
