Description: United States Army Model 1917 steel helmet, the classic World War I "doughboy" helmet worn by Private Clarence Ervin Ohmann. It consists of a shallow bowl with a symmetrically flared brim. The liner is missing. The interior has a coarse felt pad and a fragment of a leather strap. The shell is painted olive drab.
