Titles: US Army major general's frock coat and silk lining fragments (Supplied title)

Description: United States Army major general's frock coat (A) and possibly related red fabric fragment (B). The blue wool coat has three rows of three gilded Federal eagle buttons. The coat was worn by Brigadier General Henry H. Sibley and donated by his granddaughter to the Daughters of the American Revolution, Sibley House Association. The red damask fabric fragment was described by the donor as lining from the coat, but the fabric is inconsistent with typical lining material and does not match fragments found around the armholes and cuffs.
