Description: A Dakota ball and pin game, circa 1900. This game of dexterity is similar to the cup-and-ball principle and consists of three main parts. At one end are six triangular bone targets tinted red, each worth different point values. At the other end is a long dark gray metal pin with a pointed end and an eye on the opposite end. Connecting the eye of the pin and the bones is a leather thong. Collected at either at the Lower Brule Indian Agency, Lower Brule, South Dakota or the Crow Creek Indian Agency, Fort Thompson, South Dakota.
