Titles: In-line Rollerblades skates (Supplied title)
Description: Pair of black "Rollerblades" inline skates and box. One side of box reads, "Manufactured By / OLE'S INNOVATIVE SPORTS / Minneapolis, Minnesota U.S.A.". Though inline skates were not new in 1979, nineteen-year-old goalie Scott Olsen found a way to improve on existing designs and then successfully marketed his Rollerblades product to a hockey audience. Because they simulate ice skating on pavement, Rollerblades were used by hockey players and ice skaters to keep in condition during the summer months, as well as for general recreational use. The skates consist of black molded plastic boots, each with a horizontal row of four red hard plastic wheels and a black rubber stopper mounted diagonally at the back of each boot. The boots have thick foam-backed, acrylic lining with a flexible insert for support above and around the ankles, and a tongue secured by white tie laces. The size 7 skates fit inside a white cardboard box with the Rollerblade logo on the top. A white sticker on one side reads: "3 WHEEL JUNIOR PRO/SIZE 6". The box is for a different model and size, but both date to 1984.
