Description: A Dakota female doll made by the Bluecloud family from the Upper Sioux Indian Community in Granite Falls, Minnesota, circa the early 20th century. The doll wears a full-length animal hide one-piece dress with contrasting dark brown animal hide with blue and green beaded trim at yoke, back, lower front, lower back and hem. Her black yarn hair is in two braids tied with hide. The doll has beaded facial features (red for mouth, black for eyes and eye brows) and a sculpted nose. The doll also wears beaded animal hide moccasins.
