Description: A Dakota female doll probably made by the Bluecloud family from the Upper Sioux Indian Community in Granite Falls, Minnesota, circa the early 20th century. The doll wears an animal hide dress with fringed cuffs and hem and a red, white and blue yarn belt over a plaid loincloth. Long blue and red ribbon is sewn onto the back of the dress. Her black yarn hair is in two long braids tied with hide ornamented with blue beads, metal cones and red feathers. The doll has beaded facial features and a sculpted nose. The doll also wears a multi-strand clear and black cut bead necklace, earrings of blue beads, shells and porcupine quills, and animal hide moccasins lightly beaded with red, white, and blue beads.
