Titles: Minnesota Polka Oral History Project: Interview with Jerry Minar (Supplied title)
Description: The interview took place in Minar's studio in the basement of his home. Minar ran JBM Productions, a recording studio and production company that was responsible for putting out the bulk of German and Czech polka or old time recordings being done in Minnesotaat the time. Minar also drew customers from Wisconsin and Iowa. In addition to being a producer of sound recordings, Minar was a fine concertina player and a member of the Ivan Kahle Band. As a result of his musicianship and his contract with many bands, Minar was something of an authority on the Minnesota polka or old time scene. The interview scratches the surface of his knowledge.
