Titles: Saddle skirt (Supplied title)

Description: Two pieces of a leather skirt for a western style saddle, circa 1865. The skirt is tooled with a large floral border in each corner and would originally have been attached to the tree and stirrups. Indentations from the cinch (a flat, narrow strap) and the tree of the saddle are visible at the center, with a large rounded indentation from the seat narrowing toward the pommel swells. See accompanying saddle 6839.1.
