Description: Western-style saddle, circa 1865. The saddle is tooled with a large floral border on the top of the cantle and rear housing, as well as on each fender and stirrup. The pommel swell and stirrup leathers are tooled in a basket weave pattern. The saddle has leather-wrapped wooden stirrups, a leather latigo (tie strap), a tall, narrow pommel swell and a wide, flat horn.
