Description: Pincushion made by the Dakota at Prairie Island Indian Reservation, Minnesota, circa the 1930s. The pincushion consists of blue fabric in the shape of a bird sewn with glass beads: red outlining the body and wing, a white eye, and multi-colored hanger, feet and beak. The pincushion was donated by ethnomusicologist Frances Densmore.
