Description: A Dakota pincushion from the Prairie Island Indian Reservation, Minnesota, circa the 1930s. The pincushion consists of pink fabric in the shape of a heart sewn with beads reading "1934" in the upper left corner, a whirling log / whirlwind symbol in the upper right, and a diamond pattern at the center. The pincushion was donated by ethnomusicologist Frances Densmore.
