Description: Spanish cavalry saber (.A) and scabbard (.B). The saber has a curved, single-edged blade and a half-basket type brass hilt with leather wrapped wooden grips. The steel scabbard has two suspension rings. The set was used during the Civil War by Major Christopher B. Heffelfinger of the 1st Minnesota Heavy Artillery Regiment.
