Description |
Channel-quilted winter bonnet/hood (stylistically resembling a calash) of black and purple checked silk with quilted curtain and black damask silk ribbon ties. Down-filled channels. Made by donor's grandmother, Lucretia Brush Pomroy, circa 1858. Bonnet was exhibited at Minnesota State Fair in 1955 by maker's granddaughter, Alice Pomroy. |
