Description: French-Canadian finger-woven wool sash in "ceinture flechee" or "arrow sash" pattern. This type of sash is associated with the Pembina, N.D., and L'Assomption, Quebec, area. Pattern consists of a red core flanked by parallel zigzags in alternating white, red, light blue, dark blue, yellow and olive green. At either end the unbraided strands are twisted and knotted to form fringe.
