Description: Japanese naginata identified as a Confederate lance used in the Civil War. The blade is straight, double-edged, and triangular in cross-section with a prow point and becomes six-sided at the base. The underside of the blade has a painted black fuller. The haft is cylindrical wood, painted black and bound in four places with plant fiber, much of which is missing. The haft, along with the tang, has been cut off.
