Titles Velvet and brocade maternity dress
Description Royal purple velvet maternity gown worn by Mrs. James J. Hill was made by Saint Paul, Minn., dressmaker, Mary G. Worley. The boned, fitted velvet bodice has a mandarin collar, self fabric button front and three-quarter length set-in sleeves. The "V" shape peplum is beaded with seed pearls and opalescent beads. The bustle skirt has three panels of brocade on gold satin with velvet inserts trimmed by four velvet bows and small pearl fringe. The back of the skirt has a medium train with brocade inserts. Gown is lined in silk faille, satin and black polished cotton; it has an inner waistband, bustle tapes and an expandable waistline.
