Pledge card reads, "I pledge my word and honor, God helping me, to abstain from ALL intoxicating Liquors as a beverage (including wine, beer and cider) and from the use of Tobacco in any form." Card has a blank space at bottom for bearer to sign his or her name. Distributed by the Women's Christian Temperance Union during the years leading to Prohibition, which lasted from 1920 to 1933. |
