Native American game bag
|
| Description | Native American (possibly Dakota) buckskin game bag with flap and tie closure. The pouch portion of one side of the bag is decorated with horizontal orange lines formed by dyed porcupine quills. Remnants of blue feathers suggest that vertical feathered lines originally crossed the horizontal quilled ones. The bag's sides are decorated with geometric beadwork panels and conical tinkler cones terminating in tufts of dyed horsehair. Horsehair cones attached to quilled leather ties also decorate the bag closer to its flap opening. A final beadwork panel decorates the top of the flap. |
