Description: Hand puppet used to portray Major Lawrence Taliaferro (1794–1871) in education puppet shows. Taliaferro served as Indian Agent of St. Peters (the area surrounding Fort Snelling) from 1820 until 1839. The puppet wears a black frock coat with gold embroidery on the sleeves and collar. Made by artist Deborah Swanson, St. Paul, Minnesota for donor circa 1969.
