Description: Lace-trimmed, machine-sewn cotton chemise used a part of a Civil War-era wedding trousseau. Includes a front flap decorated with pin tucks and ruching that would have been folded down over the top of a corset. Tatted rings edge the neckline, sleeves and falling flap. A separate ruffle has been applied to the hem of the chemise.
