Description BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Leonard Lopez was born in Bass City, Kansas, on Jan. 24, 1921, and moved to St. Paul in 1933. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1942 and joined the St. Paul Police Department in 1949. SUBJECTS DISCUSSED: Childhood; work in beet fields; service in World War II; his Spanish and Indian ancestry; his career as a police officer; and his family and marriage.
