Description A silk Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) ribbon commemorating the service of the 2nd Minnesota Cavalry Regiment, which performed frontier duty between 1864 and 1866 and participated in the battle of Killdeer Mountain. The GAR was an advocacy group comprised of veterans of the Union Army who served during the Civil War.
