Titles: Dakota pipe bag (Supplied title)

Description: A Dakota leather pouch with string closure, circa the early 20th century. The pouch's mouth and one of its sides are decorated with black and white beadwork; a beadwork panel in shades of black, white and red decorates its front. Leather fringe partially wrapped in dyed porcupine quills dangles from the bottom of the pouch. Laid flat, the quills form a decorative panel depicting two yellow rectangles inside two gray rectangles on an orange background. Leather thongs completely wrapped in dyed quills terminate in tinkler cones binding tufts of dyed horsehair.
