Description: United States Army artillery officer's leather saddle holsters for the Model 1860 Colt revolver or similar large revolver. Used during the Civil War by First Lieutenant Adam Beattie of the 26th Battery, New York Light Artillery. The saddle holsters have brass tips and brass fasteners to attach the holster cover, which is laced to the holster strap and is edged in red leather. Each holster has a small cartridge box sewn to it and a strap assembly for buckling to a breast collar.
