Description: United States Army artillery officer's saddle cloth. It was used by First Lieutenant Adam Beattie of the 26th Independent Battery, New York Light Artillery. The wool flannel is lined with blue-and-white cotton ticking, trimmed with coarse red wool, and edged with leather. Each rear corner has a red leather shield with the number "26" in brass.
