Description |
The ornate sign has three black Chinese characters in relief surrounded by carved gilded designs of birds, flowers, etc. on a gilded ground. The characters translate as "YUEN FAUNG LO" or "The Cafe of Many Different Vistas". The border has carved and gilded relief figures, symbolizing good fortune, on a red ground. The sign was carved in Canton, China, and hung in John's Place, a Chinese restaurant in Minneapolis, Minn. |
